The project management team has a strong tech component. However, when performing this job, their main concerns are the procedures, fulfilling deadlines, cost control and resource control. Also, there’s the need of guaranteeing the quality on the team’s performance, ability and initiative for resolution of anything that needs to be changed in order to achieve the best project conclusion.
Staging, equipment preparation and registration
Identifying, registering and preparing equipment might look simple, but in most cases it is of major importance, such as when a company is moving from one place to other or when a company is renewing the material on their computer park.
Equipment is identified and a list of correspondence for the respective users is made. Identifying equipment in a rack with all identifications, photos and list of respective wiring make all the difference to the team responsible for the service, and will also improve the client’s satisfaction level.
Packaging and shipping
Suitable packaging is essential in order to minimize any unpredictable situation that can cause any damage, loss or theft. The shipment is usually made by the company’s own fleet or any partner’s fleet, always under IT One’s responsibility.
Equipment installation and configuration
Depending on the project, the team responsible for the installation might not be the same that uninstalls the original equipment. A roll-out can have two teams or just one team, depending on the facility’s capacity or other constraints. When moving, and depending on the project’s schedule, there might be two or more teams involved – while a team removes the equipment from the original spot, another team takes care of the shipment and third one will be responsible for the installing the equipment at the final location.
User support
Every time a project implies technological change regarding the operative system or any applications, it’s important for the users to feel comfortable with changing, being backed up by competent teams, in order to make change soft and to have the smallest impact possible on their work. If necessary, IT One will a support team to help minimize the effects or, if it’s the case, a team to start up a new system.
Inventory
Given the inventory importance in companies’ estate, even from an accounting point of view, the service of identifying with the right tag and name might be included in the project and the inventory service might use adequate software for this purpose.
Reports
To finish the project, the client is given a final document that will mention the activities taken and all the relevant information to conclude the project. Partial reports may also be given, in case it’s a sub-project. By giving the final report, the project is concluded, and then begins the period of service execution.
